Cloud signage services provider Signagelive has teamed up with training provider Nvest to produce online training for users of the former’s media delivery platform.

Jason Cremins (chief executive of Signagelive), said the user experience was at the heart of product and online training.

“This gives our users the freedom to build training into their schedules and learn at their own pace, whether they want a product refresher, to improve productivity or to explore features introduced in our regular product updates,” Cremins said in a statement.

The web-based product training, which comprises seven sessions, complements the full-day, face-to-face training packages Nvest already provides for Signagelive and its global network of resellers.

Pip Thomas, managing director of audiovisual products training at Nvest, said online training, whether self-led or tutored, can be very cost effective.

“Training helps users achieve a return on their investment but learning styles and available budgets vary,” Thomas added. “[Online training] also provides a great platform for ‘quick and dirty’ familiarisation sessions to whet a potential customer’s appetite as part of a product trial or provide a full induction package.”

Mark has extensive experience of sales and of training both small and large groups, gained at leading technology companies including Samsung, Sony, T-Mobile, Seagate and Asus. In his new role, Mark will train users of products from leading brands including Smart, Hitachi, LG, Samsung, signagelive, LifeSize and Polycom across the South East region.

Nvest provides bespoke training to buyers of AV, digital signage, interactive, videoconferencing and Voice over IP products, on behalf of resellers, distributors and manufacturers, working interactively with users to ensure they can use them effectively and with confidence, and achieve a good return on their investment.

Managing Director at Nvest, Pip Thomas, says: “Mark’s skills and experience are exactly what Nvest and its customers want − someone who focuses on individual skills, ensures delegates get hands-on with their new products and are comfortable and confident in their use.”

She continues: “Mark’s appointment strengthens the Nvest team and our offering to the AV industry. With Mark on board, Nvest is now able provide product training nationwide and within five days of installation, which is what our customers have been asking for.

“We will also be able to bring forward the rollout of our new remote training programme, to complement our face-to-face training provided at our own or the customers’ offices.”

As Account Manager to Nvest customer Midwich, a leading trade-only distributor of AV consumer electronics and print and imaging products in the UK, Mark will also work closely with the Midwich team to develop training available for its diverse product mix.

NVest is a leading provider of training services to AV end users, acting on behalf of leading manufacturers including Cisco, Ebeam, Hitachi, LG, Samsung, Smart and others, plus resellers and distributors such as Medium, Micro-P, Midwich, Sahara and Steljes.

“We pull together a half to one-day training package aimed at the end user, with a generic element which is bespoke to their needs,” explains Managing Drector, Pip Thomas. “We can help the reseller provide a service wrap
around, so the end-users get the right products to meet their needs.”

NVest offers face-to-face and web-based training and is introducing a new global remote training package which will provide 24/7 training as an interactive webinar.

Pip reckons there are two AV training issues to address. “First, ensure that resellers know how to position a product with confidence, to benefit the end-user. Second, target training needs at sectors such as education, corporates and SMEs, so they know how to use products and can make the right choices.”

Nvest, a leading provider of training services to the Audio Visual industry, has launched an outsourced, first-line, technical support service enabling resellers to provide support to customers of digital signage, video conferencing, interactive whiteboard and Voice Over IP products.

The launch follows Nvest’s acquisition earlier this month by IT support group, Inbay Limited, with 24/7 telephone and online support offered to English speaking customers in any country out of Inbay’s international Customer Care Centre.

Nvest provides training to buyers of products from leading brands including Cisco, Ebeam, Hitachi, LG, LifeSize, Onelan, Polycom, Samsung, signagelive and Smart on behalf of reseller and distributors including Medium, Micro-P, Midwich, Sahara and Steljes. Its extensive experience has enabled Nvest to create a service perfectly matched to the needs of both users and resellers.

Managing Director of Nvest, Pip Thomas said: “We take the pain away for everyone. While resellers get on with the business of selling, our friendly and approachable support team uses everyday language to resolve user problems.”

“Providing first-line tech support is a natural extension of Nvest’s training services, Thomas added. “We know how to simplify technology. We already help users from schools and academies to doctors’ surgeries, and from small businesses to public sector organisations, get full value from their investment through training and we are often the first people they call when they need help.”

“Access to Inbay’s 24/7 support resource has enabled us to add a first-line support service that is affordable for the user and not only provides an ongoing revenue stream for the reseller, but also fosters repeat business and enables differentiation of their business through top-class customer service.”

Working as a product trainer in the AV market can often be a tiresome task, however, it is an intensely fast paced and immensely interesting industry. It’s great to watch products developing, or even flowering. We have the pleasure of working with some of the leading Digital Signage and Video Conferencing products and have done for some time. In this time, we see these solutions grow from strength to strength.

In taking on these products, we have to learn the ins and outs, the benefits and the challenges end users face, all to assist in the day to day use of the fantastic products that are sometimes offered to a user with very little in the way of support. It is important to us to see that a product, be it a Large Format Display, a Video Conferencing unit or an Interactive Whiteboard does not go unused or sit in a dusty corner thanks to what at first can be a daunting amount to take on board.

It can be painful to see what was, not so long ago, a huge investment retired into a cupboard, simply because there was a lack of time and energy put into practising, for whatever reasons. It is daunting to now realise that some of those incredible products that are being released to market as we send this message out to you, could end up in the same place in the future.

So, our question to you, before you invest in that piece of kit that will revolutionise the way you work, why not also think about investing in the correct way to learn about a product? Learning with people that not only know the ins and outs of the equipment you are investing in, but will also look at how to best to teach you in the best way and environment.

We have moved to new offices at Searches Farm in Bedmond, the rural location provides the peace and tranquility needed to fire up the latest technology, test out Hardware and recent Software Launches and generally play with technology.

Our team here are noisy and being stuck in the middle of a field is clearly the preferred option for any surrounding neighbours we might have.

So from Interactive Whiteboards, Digital Signage through to the latest in Video Conferencing we are happy to play with your technology, simplify the message and create easy to follow training packages for your teams and your customers…

We like noise, we love technology and we totally need to be in a field to create our work…
